Bretten – Anne Moolman
Bretten-Anne obtained her Fine Arts Degree from Rhodes University in 1991 and went on to complete a Higher Diploma in Art Education with three distinctions in 1994. She runs private art classes for students and adults from her new venue Art on Target at 2 Target Kloof, Essexvale in Port Elizabeth.
As an artist, she has been exhibiting professionally since 1992 and in 2012 worked towards her solo called ‘Four Rooms’ which was held at the Ron Belling Gallery in October of 2012. In 2012 she was one of the participating artists in Xpressions 2012 at the Standard Bank National Arts festival in Grahamstown in the Trinity Hall. In 2010 she was one of the participating artists of Xpressions 2010 at the Ron Belling Gallery. Her work was selected for both the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Museum Biennale and the Friends of the Art Museum ‘Skin’ Exhibition in 2010.
In 2004 her work was selected as one of the top 100 young artists in South Africa for the Absa Atelier. Bretten-Anne has participated in group shows at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, Textures Gallery, Cuyler Street Gallery, Ron Belling Gallery, Montage Gallery, the Athenaeum and artEC.

Her work varies from figurative and contemporary images to commissions for clients. B A Moolman feels strongly about social injustices and reflects upon this in her works as a form of social commentary. Her works are in private collections nationally and abroad. She has held six solo exhibitions, the most recent being “Four Rooms” held at the Ron Belling Gallery, Port Elizabeth, in 2012. She served as Chairman of the Friends of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum from 2006 to 2012.
